Ben 10

Ben 10
TGIF. That's what lots of people are saying. And I'll repeat it again. TGIF.

Ever since the new term began, the word "social life" has became a total stranger to me. Not that my social life was fantastic anyway.

Racing against time seem to be the common theme that all lecturers have when they give out assignments. Yes, they are spread out over the whole sem, but seriously, the unmentioned pile of homework and the revision we gotta do for test - once packed into the nicely spread out assignment schedule, makes it a whole FULL schedule.

Thus in conclusion, the word "social life" will remain foreign to me. We're all not living life to the fullest. So much for clubbing when we reach 18, learning to drive when we're legal to do so at 18, getting ourselves shit ass drunk and all those BIG HOPES and DREAMS of what we can do when we reach 18. No one mentioned the lack of social life at 18.

I feel a generation gap between kids and myself. Nursery rhymes are either changed or totally unheard of. And and and... did you guys know that Ben 10 is the current newest cartoon for kiddos? Powerpuff Girls, Totally Spies, Justice League are apparently, very passé.

And I only know this becuz almost everyone is bringing either Ben 10 schoolbag or Ben 10 waterbottle. No wonder they get mixed up.

Won't it be hilarious if I suddenly, because of the NEED to do so, sit in front of the TV and watch those kiddy songs that are often played in the morning to attract kids to sing along?

Wait. Even that is so stone age old fashion. They don't even have those programmes on TV anymore.

I feel like I'm in Sahara Desert

I feel like I'm in Sahara Desert
The weather is simply... Horrendous. Thanks to global warming.

I'm more of a "cold" person, really.

Yeah, I know I'm a Singaporean and living like so near the Equator and such. But I really really really "buay tahan" the heat.

Went to school on Monday wearing the spag strap top. People in the train and at the bus stop look at me weirdly. Or I might just be a tad self-conscious.

Who cares right? As long as I'm not dying in the heat, who cares about what people think. It's. Just. Too. Hot.

What's worse is that I'm already changing seats with Quek - who apparantly always get the seat under the aircon - and she can't stand the cold. LOL.

Peeps in my class must be thinking that I'm out of my mind. I'm wearing sleeveless, sitting under the aircon, and not even wearing a jacket.

Well. I did wear the sleeveless hoodie "jacket" thing, but Melisa tells me it doesn't even serve a purpose. LOL.

Seriously. I'm not showing off or whatsoever. But the heat is really ARGH.

I really really really crave for cheng tng now. It's like the best dessert. Suitable for people like me who continuously goes on and on about how bad the heat is.

It's like - only 60 cents in school. Cheap, aint it? It's just a small bowl but well. It's cheap. Cost lesser than Ben & Jerry's or even Haggen Daaz.

But I'm really considering buying a whole TUB of ice cream home. The weather is like seriously ARGH.

Whatev.

Thankfully HMS block is like a freezer already. That's what Rah always say.

Maybe I should like dye my hair blonde, since black absorbs heat right?

No dumb blonde jokes allowed.

Surprises

Surprises
Approaching the end of the first week of school. Re-adjusting to printing out lectures, note taking, and my handy red pen for underlining important stuff.

Last year's 1st sem started at 3pm, so I guess I was kinda like a freshie when I reached NP bus stop. Free breakfast and fruit, even campus maps!

With Baracuda drumming less than 20 steps away from me, I'm pretty sure the people playing the instruments are more or less on their way of losing their hearing. I couldn't even hear myself speaking. And that counts alot. Since I know I've got a tendency to speak louder than usual. Sometimes.

Heavier workloads, heavier semester. That's to be expected yeah? Officially year two now. I still can't wrap my brain around that idea.

With that said.. CCA seems to be.. quite important too. I'm thinking. Still thinking. If I should stick or should I change.

Did something out of the ordinary today with Dorothy, Melisa and Jolene. Even more surprising was... I actually had fun.

Weird concept. To link fun with poly. LOL.

Maybe that's what we're supposed to do. Balance fun and work.

So does that mean I'm on my way on becoming an academic scholar? >.<

Don't mind me. I'm just building sandcastles in the air.

I guess... I'm really fickle minded.

Home alone.

Home alone.
School's starting in one week's time. Sharpened your pencils? Refilled your pens? Packed your bags? Gone were the days. All we have to do now is to make sure we brought our laptop together with the adapter and the electricity flowing from the power point will do the work for you.

Unfortunately, I've cultivated an obsession with Taiwanese dramas with a certain guy from a boyband that is... I think... very popular at the moment. I think.

You guys know my track record. Whatever I think is new is usually new two years ago. But I'm pretty sure they're pretty popular now.

So I've managed to watch 3 series show. And no, i'm not obsessed with Wu Zun. I'm serious. Not him.

Technically speaking, I've only finished watching one series. 55 episodes – such an accomplishment I tell ya. My longest series watched to date. Though, none of the episodes warrants a repeat.

After which, watched another series show, which supposedly, according to Wikipedia, is one of the top dramas of the year. (a few years back). I started from episode 20 to 28 and till that, got the gist of it and stopped watching. The female lead that was supposedly naïve was actually, to put it nicely, not very bright who's going after the male lead who belongs to the group of people with high IQ. Watch until buay tahan. Skipped to the sequel, which, fortunately is nicer.

Skipped the first three episodes, but after that watched the forth, skipped the fifth, watched parts of episode 6 and 7, as well as the preview for episode 8 and started watching – without skipping any parts, episode 9 onwards to the end – which is episode 16. Episode 17 is currently showing in Taiwan tonight so I'll just wait for the nice person who loads it up on youtube every Wednesday.

Since I've got time on my hands, watched episodes of 娛樂百分百 and 康熙来了. Surprised? I think I kinda shocked myself too.

Gossip Girls seem to be so passé. It's so popular now that I've stopped watching it.

Rest assured. Cramming at Changi Airport waiting for stars and celebs to arrive is not my style. Youtube is my best friend. =D
